Our fall festival brought out the neighborhood

There were parents, kids, food, beer from our longtime corporate friend Monnik Beer Co. and entertainment by Squallis Puppeters and Squeeze-bot. A highlight was the formal unveiling of our new steps featuring District 8 Metro Councilwoman Cassie Chambers Armstrong, who arranged for the $10,000 Neighborhood Development Grant to pay for them.

Save the date: Our park festival is coming this fall!

Come see the puppets!

This year’s Beechwood Park Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, from 2 to 6 p.m. We’ll have music from Squeeze-bot; beer from Monnik Beer Co.; entertainment by Squallis Puppeteers; a hot dog cart, and more.

And we’re planning a ribbon-cutting for our just-completed new steps, made possible by a $10,000 Neighborhood Development grant from District 8 Metro Councilwoman Cassie Chambers Armstrong.

Have you dreamed of making history?

We all have! And now we have a chance to be a part of the Louisville’s day of giving — an opportunity to unite our city around causes in which we truly believe, and help nonprofits connect to the larger community.

Give for Good Louisville logoWe need your help! Please join our campaign and donate to Beechwood Park. We need you to tell your friends and family members about the important work we do and ask them to join us in helping to make a difference.

Get ready to give! Starting at 12 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, visit our page at Give for Good Louisville and make a donation to us (plus any of the great participating nonprofit organizations in the community). You will have 24 hours to make your donation, and all giving will end at 11:59 p.m. Sept. 12.

If we have at least 30 unique donors we will be in the pool to share $40,000. All you need to do is donate any amount, even just $10.00. You can donate to other nonprofits as well. We would really appreciate your support!

Toast the park at our Octoberfest fundraiser at Monnik Beer

Monnik Beer glassPlease join us at Monnik Beer Co. in Schnitzelberg from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, for an Octoberfest event benefiting Beechwood Park. Our fundraiser will also coincide with Louisville Beer Week! Your $50 per-person donation will help us complete our next projects: the limestone step entrance, Children’s Nature Play Area (partnering with Bloom Elementary School) and fall planting of understory trees.

Buy tickets via our Eventbrite page.

Your donation will include Monnik’s Grassfed Burger Slider Bar with assorted toppings, fries and mixed greens, plus two beer selections. (A vegetarian option is available, too; please contact Brian at brian.caudill@att.net if you want this.) A yummy dessert selection is also included.

We will have a jazz trio, Palensky Lake Blaszynski, performing that evening.

Special thanks to Republic Bank for their generous sponsorship!
